THE FIRM.
need to know...
welcome to the firm. the firm is a line between a client (a customer requesting for someone to complete services) and a freelancer (the worker fullfilling these requests). think of us like a dating app in which you search for and locate the person to fulfill your needs, or they'll offer their services on your request. make no mistake, though. our purpose is only to connect others and we take no responsibility for the failures and successes of each job. the firm is neutral ground and will be treated accordingly. we do not work for anyone.WHO IS BEHIND THE FIRM? the firm is a one-man show operated by someone labeled as the broker. the broker does not meet with clients or freelancers often and requires a great deal of trust before they show their face to any member who falls into this server. the broker is fair and takes no sides, has no favorites. the broker is to be respected and any signs of maltreatment could lead to a client or freelancer being banned or targeted for a hit depending on the offense. the broker does not work for you. you are merely at the mercy of their kindness and resources.HOW DOES THIS WORK? you, the client, will submit your request here. within 72 hours, you will get a message or phone call from your freelancer to go over the reward and confirm the job. you will pay the freelancer half before the job is done as insurance. once finished, the freelancer will contact you and you can complete the payment. any attempts to scam a freelancer could lead you to being banned from the server and targeted for a hit, depending on the severity.what requests do you accept? all sorts, we host different types of requests from simple things like arranging a drug deal, setting up an attack or getting a freelancer to scare a target, to more serious requests like heists, armed robberies, placing a hit or a bounty on someone's head. any and all criminal acts are accepted. for normal tasks, go on taskrabbit or something.what happens if we get caught by the police? the broker is heavily protected, the firewalls are secure and are essentially untraceable and unhackable. the users are safe and in good company. however, should police investigation lead to you as a client or freelancer, you are on your own. you may contact the broker and ask they send you a lawyer, but any instances in which you betray the firm will put a hit on your head. you will take responsibility for the requests you've made and anyone who jeopardizes the safety of the broker will have a target placed on their backs.
a brief history...
out of character note: this portion of the page is just for you as a writer and roleplay partner. your muse would not know this information unless plotted otherwise.the broker is a woman named josephine "jo" gatlin, who is the daughter of the ceo and owner of gatlin consolidated. jo had grown up in a rather normal household and was privileged from birth due to her family's status. she came from old money and was silver spoon-fed. with her father being a traditionalist, she knew the company would go to her younger brother, and she would have a trust fund to live off of, but thankfully she had no interest in going into business the way her father ran it. in her sophomore year of college, jo ended up creating the firm, after realizing that at her university and even with her high society peers, it would be handy to connect known dealers with prospective customers through a site rather than solely relying on word of mouth.the firm eventually grew, and it became more than just a place for dealers to get their customers. eventually, it became used for more sinister things like students arranging hired fists to beat up their classmates and people putting out a hit on their enemies. it also became adapted by the high class society who intend to commit crimes, and is now an integral part of the underground heist society as it assists thieves, assassins, and all sorts of criminals in finding their next target.

rules of the trade...
note: all members of the heist society and adjacent criminal enterprises are expected to follow these rules. the freelancers and their affiliated organizations keep each other in check through retaliation. do not do unto others what you don't want done to you. but no one follows that rule.one. everything must be kept a secret. and this truly means everything. you are not to tell a single soul about your endeavors as a freelancer and those you associate with while fulfilling a request. anyone who gets authorities involved and reveal information will have a target placed on their back. especially if it jeopardizes the broker's safety. no one will be able to save you.two. leaders of criminal enterprises / organizations are able to put a hit or bounty on anyone, civilian or criminal alike. they are to be posted on the active bounties page of the firm. only appointed leaders can submit their targets, and they may have more than one simultaneously.three. bounties can be temporarily paused or lifted when the target enters a contract or has employment with an organization. however, leaders can add more rewards to a bounty while it's paused or lifted and the higher rewards will continue when the bounty is active again.four. murders are permitted if the leaders can clean up their mess and not leave a trail. killing a public figure is frowned upon due to the fact that it invites investigations and risks breaking rule one.five. if you get caught, you're on your own. you must take the fall yourself. refer to rule number one. should you choose, you can contact the broker and they will send you a lawyer to assist you with your case. but any instances in which you tell any law enforcement about the firm or the broker will get a target placed on your back.

manager: summer haranamed after the owner's favorite casino game, blackjack diner is a standard all-american diner that still resembles old-fashioned diners that existed in the 50s and 60s with chrome tables and booths and counter tops. it's a lovely place to have breakfast and lunch and the occasional dinner and is located in queens, ny.in recent years, under the management of one mr. simon roban, it had become a criminal hotspot as it became a place where deals were discreetly made or plans were set into action. after roban's mysterious death and passing, it was managed by nursing resident drop-out, summer hara. for a while, summer was oblivious to the criminal world that the diner was part of, but eventually, she came to it on her own and she established an illegal clinic with the help of her former colleagues to treat criminals who couldn't show up at a hospital, whether due to being on the run or not being insured.
